Energy Resource Governance Initiative (ERGI) Academy
Increasing demand for clean energy technologies will create unprecedented demand for energy resource minerals. ERGI is a strategic initiative formed in 2019 by five countries: the USA, Australia, Canada, Peru, and Botswana. In the last few years, the number of ERGI partner countries has grown to above 20. ERGI’s goal is to engage and promote sound mining sector governance to develop a resilient energy mineral supply chain among the partner countries. The ERGI Academy, based at the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR), is funded by the US Department of State and the Australian Government. The Academy is designed to host delegations of mining policymakers from around the world at UNR to share best practices in mineral regulations and governance.
